New Orleans ROAD HOME and REALM Property Auction: April 2, 2011

On April 2, 2011 the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (NORA) will auction approximately 93 Road Home properties.  These properties are located throughout Orleans Parish.  The auction will include mostly single family homes or doubles along with some vacant lots.

Properties included in the auction are located in neighborhoods that have seen strong redevelopment since the storm, such as Audubon, Bayou St. John, Fairgrounds, Lakeview, Lower Garden District, Mid-City, West End, and others. Additional properties were chosen because of their unique historic characteristics.

The bidding will start at $1000 per property; final sales are subject to approval from NORA.  Winning bidders will agree to rehab or begin construction on the property within 12 months and keep it free from blight.  Bidders may also utilize the property for green space if they are a directly adjacent property owner. The auction is open to the public with no restrictions.
