CITY TO HOLD FIRST BLIGHTSTAT MEETING TOMORROW
Press release from the City of New Orleans
In keeping with Mayor Landrieu’s aggressive blight strategy which aims to eliminate up to 10,000 blighted and/or vacant properties over the next three years, the City will hold its first BlightStat meeting to monitor progress in meeting citywide blight goals on Thursday, November 4, 2010.
BlightStat will be the principle way to manage and monitor the implementation of Mayor Landrieu’s blight eradication strategy by tracking key metrics. This is the first in a series of regularly scheduled BlightStat accountability meetings with key blight policy and code enforcement agency staff. These meetings are open to the public.
BlightStat will be one of several “NOLAStat” initiatives Mayor Landrieu will use to improve performance, accountability, and transparency in city government.
