Mid City Parade of Homes

By

Houses are being moved from the proposed Veterans Affairs hospital footprint in Mid City. The first of as many as 100 houses slated to be moved hit the roads on September 8. The homes were initially slated for demolition, but Mayor Landrieu reprogrammed $3.2 million in Community Development Block Grant funds to have the homes moved in conjunction with Builders of Hope and local non-profit organizations. The houses will be scattered throughout Mid City, Esplanade Ridge and Central City.
