Proposed Demolitions: Neighborhood Conservation Districts Committee Agenda Dec. 7, 2009

By

NEIGHBORHOOD CONSERVATION DISTRICTS COMMITTEE

Monday, December 7, 2009
AGENDA & PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
2:00 p.m. City Planning Commission Conference Room
Amoco Building
1340 Poydras Street, 9th Floor
New Orleans, Louisiana, 70112

2800 St. Bernard Avenue is a raised Arts and Crafts style house that is proposed for demolition

In addition to owner-initiated demolition applications, there are 36 properties on the agenda that have been declared a public nuisance and, if approved for demolition, will be torn down using public funds. Since these properties are initiated by the city and not by the owner (who may or may not be aware of the citation)– and also because the demolitions would utilize taxpayer money– it is very important that these properties are carefully reviewed by the committee.

1730 Marigny is a city-initiated demolition request. This house is a 4-bay Creole Cottage that was previously denied for demolition by the committee.
