PRC’s Renovators’ Happy Hour goes to Mid-City
ByPRC’s Renovators’ Happy Hour goes to Mid-City
Thursday, October 22, 2009
5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
213 S. Clark St.
(in Mid-City)
Join the PRC to celebrate the renovation of this previously blighted, wood-framed, two-story home that has been carefully restored to its historic charm.
This early-20th-century home, owned by Erich and Jennifer Weishaupt, was a blighted multi-plex before Katrina; the Weishaupts have since taken great care to restore both historic features and character throughout.
The program will also include a discussion on repairing historic wood windows, as well as a presentation on the Mid-City neighborhood by Virgina Blanque.
The Weishaupts were the recipients of the 2008 Renaissance Awards — honoring individuals who have undertaken major renovations while staying true to the original architecture and history of the building.
Light refreshments will be provided by The Ruby Slipper Cafe, wine included.
$5 for PRC Members
$7 for Non-Members
